Fundraiser set to take place for Larry the Downing Street pet cat September 27, 2011

An exclusive quiz evening is to take place to raise cash for the proper care of 10 Downing Street’s Official Mouser, Larry.
The price of caring for Larry has, so far been paid for by David Cameron’s staff members, after he was proclaimed a neighborhood moggy whom is owned by Downing Street, instead of a family cat or perhaps an expense to the taxpayer.
The
fundraiser is going to take place in the State Rooms at Number 10, to raise cash for the price of Larry’s food and also cat supplies, and will feature a special cat themed quiz round.
Larry was brought in
to capture mice and rats at the PM’s property, after a number of rodents were seen scuttling in the background of live news reports. He was from Battersea Cats and dogs Home, and even though it took him a little while to get his first catch, he has now settled into life at the popular residence.
He’s also rumoured to have
found himself a special female cat, because he has been seen spending some time with Maisy who lives within the keeper’s cottage at St James’ Park! Larry has been neutered, so there will certainly not be any kittens.
A
representative for the Royal Parks said: “The Park Manager confirms that Larry does make trips to visit Maisy. The two appear to be content with each other’s company, sometimes enjoying meals together.”
